The Parish Transformation process has begun! The result of the Parish Transformation process will be a strategic plan that includes specific actions, goals, and timelines that we as a parish want to accomplish. The next meeting is on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in O'Brien Hall. All are welcome to join, even if you have not attended previous meeting.
This year, All Saints' Day, November 1, falls on a Saturday and is not considered a Holy Day of Obligation. However, morning Mass on Saturday, November 1 will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m.
We should take some extra time during the month of October to pray and reflect upon what it means to have life, to care for life, and to honor all life as a gift from our creator. This month we will look at the different ways Catholics have been taught by Christ to respect life.
This year for All Souls' Day, we are providing the opportunity for you to honor your deceased loved with a special Mass card and inclusion in our Book of Remembrance.
Each year we gather on the Commemoration of All Souls to pray for those who are dear to us and have gone ahead to the Lord. This year the Mass of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, November, 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.
All pets and their owners are welcome at the pet blessing for the feast of St. Francis. This year, we will have two blessings: one on Friday, October 3th at 5:30 p.m. and another on Saturday, October 4th at 9:30 a.m. Both blessings will take place on the front lawn of the church.
October is the month of the Rosary. On Sunday, October 5th at 7:00 p.m., we will pray the Living Rosary in Church. Please join us and pray one of the most beloved Catholic prayers with your friends and neighbors.
In cooperation with the Ministry Commission of Vicariate V, St. Bernadette will host training for Eucharistic Ministers on Tuesday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 14. Both sessions will be held from 7-9 p.m. in our church. Through prayer, reflection and praxis, participants will explore what it means to be an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist in the 21st Century. Attendance is encouraged at both sessions, as different topics will be covered each night.
