Young adult Catholics from throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago are invited to St. Bernadette to participate in South Side Theology-on-Tap, a summer speaker and discussion series. Sunday, July 13th will begin the first session of this very successful program.
This year, South Side Theology-on-Tap will feature four different speakers and topics:
July 13: Dr. Andrea Stapleton - "Sacraments and the Catholic Call to Justice"
July 20: Ms. Marge Nykaza. - "Catholic Social Teaching"
July 27: Fr. Michael Scherschel - "Discerning God's Call"
August 3: 10:30 a.m. Mass, celebrated by Fr. Jim Lause, O.F.M., followed by lunch and a by a theological reflection on the Mass by Rev. Ron Lewinski
For these four consecutive Sundays, young adults will gather for a talk on faith, vocations, and responsible citizenship, and spend time sharing information with one another. The first three sessions (July 13-27) begin at 6:30 p.m. with a free dinner and opportunity for socialization, with the speaker beginning at 7:30 p.m. It is great opportunity to meet people with similar values, and become updated on what it means to be an adult Catholic.
The series concludes on Sunday, August 3, at 10:30 a.m. with Mass celebrated at St. Bernadette Church, 9343 S. Francisco, Evergreen Park. Following the Mass, there will be a theological reflection. Lunch will be served, and there will be opportunities for socialization and conversation. (There will be no speaker in the evening on August 3.)
Want to attend, but have young children? Don't worry. Child care is available for children ages 2 and up.
