The Passion of Christ to be performed at St. Bernadette
The theater-prayer group Wieczernik (“Cenacle”) at St. Hyacinth Basilica in Chicago will be coming to St. Bernadette Parish, 9343 S. Francisco in Evergreen Park, to perform The Passionof Christ on April 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Church. The Passion of Christ is a theatrical production of the story of Christ’s life, filled with compassion, service and salvation. A cast of non-professional actors performs passages taken directly from Scripture. The production is free of charge, but a freewill donation is taken at the end of the production to help cover costs.
Wieczernik is a Catholic religious drama group, basing its actions on the Word of God. Their goal is to spread the Word by visual image. They are based at St. Hyacinth Basilica at 3636 W. Wolfram St. in Chicago.
Prior to the event, St. Bernadette will host a Simple Supper from 5-7 p.m. in O’Brien Hall. Soup and bread will be provided for a freewill donation. The donation benefits St. Bernadette Outreach Ministry, which provides assistance to needy families and individuals in the community.
