As you may know, we have another parish pilgrimage planned for September of 2020, to visit the Rhineland and attend the Passion Play of Oberammergau. However, after hearing so many requests over the past year for a pilgrimage to Ireland, I decided to look into it.
After talking with Nawas International Travel Agency, the company that has helped plan all of our pilgrimages, I am pleased to announce an 11-day parish pilgrimage to Ireland from July 6-16, 2020. The pilgrimage will take us to: Dublin, Blarney, the Ring of Kerry, Killarney, Connemara, Galway, Knock, Derry, Donegal, and Belfast. We’ll also visit the town of Downpatrick to visit the burial site of St. Patrick, the village of Knock, where the Blessed Mother appeared in 1879. There will be many opportunities for sightseeing as well as we stop at the Nine Glens of Antrim, drive past the Blue Stack mountain range, see the Cliffs of Moher, and circle around the Ring of Kerry.
We have a limited number of spots on this pilgrimage (48), but please spread the word and let others who may be interested to know about this trip. I expect spots on the pilgrimage to fill up rather quickly, so if you are interested, please reserve your spot as soon as possible (call us at 708-422-8995 or email Ellie Joyce at
ejoyce@stbernadettechurch.org). The cost for the pilgrimage is $3,479 + $400 in taxes, for a total of $3,879.
I do not yet have a brochure or any promotional materials from Nawas International yet, but as soon as I do, I will make them available. I hope you can join us on this pilgrimage. This will be a first for me; I’ve never been to Ireland and am looking forward to the opportunity to visit. I hope you will consider taking the opportunity as well.
