The theater-prayer group Wieczernik (“Cenacle”) at St. Hyacinth Basilica in Chicago will be coming to St. Bernadette Parish, 9343 S. Francisco in Evergreen Park, to perform The Passion of Christ on Friday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Church. The Passion of Christ is a theatrical production of the story of Christ’s life, filled with compassion, service and salvation. A cast of non-professional actors performs passages taken directly from Scripture. The production is free of charge, but a freewill donation is taken at the end of the production to help cover costs.
Wieczernik is a Catholic religious drama group, basing its actions on the Word of God. Their goal is to spread the Word by visual image. They are based at St. Hyacinth Basilica at 3636 W. Wolfram St. in Chicago.
Prior to the event, St. Bernadette will host a Fish Fry from 5-7 p.m. in O’Brien Hall. Soup and bread will be provided for a freewill donation. The donation benefits St. Bernadette Outreach Ministry, which provides assistance to needy families and individuals in the community.
Soup and bread will be served, freewill donations are being asked for in place of an admission charge. Any profits will benefit St. Bernadette Outreach Ministry. Please consider making this a part of your Lenten almsgiving practice and join us Friday, February 20, 27, March 6, 13, and 20.
